About the Founder – My Story
I’m Bhawana Verma — a creative director, author, and spiritual media entrepreneur. My journey has always been guided by reinvention, courage, and purpose.
For several years, I worked in the advertising industry, directing ad films and storytelling campaigns for various brands. At one point, I decided to take a short break to focus on my personal creative projects and to spend more time with my son. During that pause, I immersed myself in abstract photography, which unexpectedly found its way to several international art galleries for representation.
That period of stillness, however, made people around me assume I was “failing.” What they couldn’t see was that I was simply pausing to evolve. As a deeply intuitive and spiritual person — even before I fully identified as one — I could sense those judgments and energies. But instead of resisting them, I chose to transform that experience into purpose. I realized how many people are afraid to pause or take new directions because they fear being seen as unsuccessful.
That realization became the seed of Failing It Up — a movement to help others see that failure is not the opposite of success but a bridge to self-awareness and growth.
I began by writing a blog that gradually gained attention and support from filmmakers, national award–winning directors, architects, writers, entrepreneurs, and chefs from around the world. What started as an intimate space for reflection has now grown into a global digital magazine and podcast, sharing stories of courage, creativity, and transformation from diverse voices across industries.

Beyond Failing It Up, I founded SweetMagnoliaa.com, a global digital platform exploring design, décor, fashion, travel, and spiritual wellness, and Tripendipity.com, an evolving travel vertical under my company Sweet Tamarind Pictures. Through my books, photography, and oracular astrology, I continue to bridge creativity, consciousness, and technology — advocating that tapping into cosmic intelligence is the way forward in the age of artificial intelligence.
